VYCOZ 'by KOREA'
Handcrafted Screwless Eyewear from South Korea
In 2013, Mr. Jeong started an eyewear brand to answer the question, 'Why aren't there any screwless eyewear brands in Korea?'
The design was inspired by automotive pistons, resistant to color fading, through the collaboration of automotive designers, textile designers, and Mr. Jeong, the CEO and a mechanical engineer. They innovated the function of the hinges and the structure of the eyewear, resulting in minimizing hinge stress. This led to the patenting of the hinge as a unique design of VYCOZ (according to vycoz.com).
A standout feature is the unique 'screwless eyewear design' with the 'Sphere Hup System and Metal Clip Rimlock,' eliminating the need for screws and creating a modern, contemporary, and complete eyewear design.
The temples are made from German stainless steel coated with titanium, resulting in an ultra-thin, lightweight, and highly flexible appearance, while also providing the strength of stainless steel. VYCOZ prioritizes 'lightness' and 'balance' to offer an exceptional wearing experience. The balanced weight ensures that the eyewear is comfortable, secure, and won't slip off.
The frames are made from Swiss Bio Empla material, a highly flexible plastic certified by Swiss standards, capable of bending and supporting weights of up to 50 kilograms. It withstands extreme weather conditions, ranging from -30 to 90 degrees Celsius, without fading, even under prolonged sunlight exposure.
The nose pads are made from high-quality silicone, and the temple tips are coated with Japan Rubber, ensuring color durability even after prolonged use.
